Writing and Storytelling are similar but distinctly different processes.

My writing has taken me into all kinds of strange and wonderful places from National to International Stage to book events all across Scotland.

The Purple White and Green

The Purple white and Green – the story of the Scottish Suffragettes was a sell out. We toured across Scotland and Canada and even performed it in Scottish Parliament.  The piece made front page headlines.

My performance writing has been varied to say the least.  It has seen me working with artists, musicians, dancers and academics and even weaving my own life sized willow dogs for props.

Book Events and writing workshops

As an author my work is varied. My initial book focused on folk tales gathered from Midlothian and Edinburgh. I then wrote a Scottish folk tale book for children. My latest work is part of a trilogy and is a huge departure from my previous writing. I also coach and run writing workshops. Over lockdown I teamed up with Susan Cohen and Mary Turner Thomson to create The Book Whisperers; free online writing courses https://www.thebookwhisperers.com
